Travel Day 1

Softball has taught me many life lessons. Such as, knowing how to ‘roll with the punches’ or being able to persist in moments of adversity by being flexible. I did not think I would have to apply this theory so early into my trip. Quite literally before I even left home.

Originally, my flight was booked to leave Friday evening (this flight has been booked for a few months now). Shortly after my lessons Thursday evening I received a notification that one of my connecting flights had been cancelled. Long story short, my flight was now going to be 12 hours earlier and leaving Friday morning. I finished packing when I got home and did as much as I could to accomplish tasks on my to do list prior to leaving for the airport.

Here we are traveling on the first leg of the flight. Currently in the air from Austin to San Francisco as I write this. With the change in my flight schedule I will now be arriving 3 hours earlier to Bali than planned (which I am okay with!) But I will have a 13-hour layover in Singapore. Those who don’t know, I have been quite excited to go to the Singapore airport since I booked my flights and that was my planned layover. The airport is known for being one of the coolest airports in the world, with museums and gardens and is in the cleanest city in the world. I will follow back to this and update with photos on how it is, I should be able to explore it thoroughly with the time I have there!

I had many people request updates and photos, wanting to know about my trip as I venture to Bali for a whole month. I will do my best to write at least weekly and post often, even if it is just some photos on my yoga Instagram (@yogi_c.rex or click the link at bottom of this page).

A BIG thank you to the family, friends and lesson clients who have been so supportive! And a special thank you to my husband for encouraging me and nudging me to chase after what I want to do, no matter how crazy or far away. I am anxious and excited about this opportunity, and I look forward to share with others, not just the journey and my trip but what I learn and to be able to apply it well after the completion of my training.
